Why he is uncommon

A convergence that is hard to bring together

He is not just a Fluffy, nor just a Merle, nor just a New Shade Rojo. What makes Valentino exceptional is that all these traits coexist in one dog, each backed by DNA, AKC registration and a documented pedigree.

New Shade Rojo
The core of his identity. Within the exotic lines we work with, it is a combination far harder to find than many of the New Shade Isabella variants in circulation today.

Tan
Defined markings that frame his color.

Merle
A marbled pattern that gives depth to his coat.

Intensity
Influences the expression of his light tones and creates warm transitions in his coat.

Fluffy
Long hair expressed, not just carried.

Pink and Blue
He carries them in one copy. They don't show in his coat, but they widen the possibilities of breeding planning.

A milestone in Central America

According to our program's records, Valentino was the first dog with Pink genetics and AKC registration introduced in Central America. To date we have not found the full combination he brings together documented in any other dog in the region.

The genetics behind Valentino

His DNA confirms what his phenotype suggests and reveals what you can't see: variants he carries in one copy and can pass on to his offspring. To learn more about each term, see our genetics and breeding guide.

Four generations of ancestry

Valentino is the son of V. Van Gogh and Zafiro VI. His certified pedigree lets you follow both family branches across four generations, look up his ancestors and see the documented connections in his ancestry.

His parents

His sire is V. VAN GOGH, registered with the AKC with a DNA profile on file there. His dam is ZAFIRO VI, also registered with the AKC.

International connections

Valentino is registered with the AKC in the United States. His sire, V. Van Gogh, was born in the United States, and the sire's side brings together American kennels such as Bully Exchange, CEC Bullies, Bott and Newfound Bullies, with two ancestors of British origin in the fourth generation: Price Tag Lad and Eau de Cologne. On the dam's side, the whole line of his grandfather Flannery Midnight comes from the United Kingdom: he, his sire Sam Sprinkle and his grandfather Harry Hawk have the United Kingdom as their country of origin, and his dam, Towiebulls Pink Tulips, comes from the British kennel Towiebulls and is registered with The Kennel Club. In the line of his grandmother Merlina, the pedigree does not list a country of origin.

Country of origin: according to the AKC pedigree. Birth and kennels: program information.

What you can look up

Four generations: 30 ancestors with their registered name, number and, where available, a DNA profile on file with the AKC. No name is repeated across those four generations.

How we use it

When evaluating a breeding we compare this history with the female's to detect common ancestors, understand the family's genetics and document its origin.

Country of origin and registration are not the same. Registration states which body a dog is registered with (for example, the AKC in the United States or The Kennel Club in the United Kingdom). The country of origin only appears when the AKC lists it in parentheses.

What he opens up in a breeding

Valentino doesn't contribute just one color. His value lies in how many paths his profile opens when combined with the right female.

Depending on the female's genetics, he can be especially interesting for projects focused on New Shade, Tan Points, Fluffy, Big Rope and Intensity, or on adding Pink and Blue to a line. No result is guaranteed: each litter depends on what both parents contribute. We only consider females confirmed as non-Merle.

Evaluate a breeding

Compatibility evaluation

We evaluate your female for you

You don't need to work out the combination on your own: that analysis is part of our work. Send us your female's information and we'll share our assessment.

Send my female's profile
  1. Tell us what you're looking forThe goal of your program or of the litter.
  2. Send us her DNA and pedigreeThe full lab report and her registration.
  3. We analyze the combinationWhat each can contribute and whether the breeding makes sense.
  4. We give you our assessmentIf the combination is suitable, we coordinate the next steps.

Genetic collaboration

Every request is evaluated. Before accepting a breeding we review the female's genetics, pedigree and condition. The service is available in Tegucigalpa and, depending on destination and logistics, through shipment of chilled reproductive material or transport of Valentino. Terms are shared once we know your case.

Stud evaluation request

The request opens a WhatsApp conversation and does not guarantee acceptance: every breeding is evaluated before it is confirmed.

Questions about Valentino

What makes Valentino's genetics so uncommon?

It is not a single trait, but their sum. New Shade Rojo, Tan, Merle, Fluffy, Big Rope and Intensity rarely come together in one dog, and even less so with Pink and Blue as carried variants, AKC registration and a documented four-generation pedigree.

Why is New Shade Rojo so relevant in his profile?

New Shade Rojo brings together two copies of Testable Chocolate (b/b) and two of Cocoa (co/co). Within the exotic lines we work with it is an especially scarce combination, and finding it together with the rest of his traits is considerably harder than finding many of the New Shade Isabella combinations in circulation today. How a color is built →

What does it mean that he is a Pink Carrier?

That he carries one copy of Pink. It isn't expressed in his appearance, but he can pass it on. A puppy is only Pink when it receives one copy from each parent; that is why his value as a carrier shows in planning, when the female also carries or expresses Pink. Pink in our guide →

Why do his DNA and pedigree matter?

DNA confirms which genetics we are working with; the pedigree shows where he comes from. AKC registration documents his identity and ancestry, although it does not certify colors: that is what the DNA test is for. Together they let us plan with information, not assumptions.

What kind of program can make the most of his genetics?

Programs looking to broaden their genetic base: New Shade, Tan Points, Fluffy, Big Rope, Intensity or adding Pink and Blue, depending on what the female contributes. If your project prefers to work without Merle, Zeus may be a better choice.

How do we know if he is compatible with my female?

We review her DNA report, her pedigree and your program's goal, and share our assessment of the combination. We only consider females confirmed as non-Merle. Send my female's profile →
